“Students at Glen Dhu Primary School have been sharing their ideas about peace. For this work, they have become Superheroes of Peace, bringing peace to the classroom, playground, their homes, Australia and the World. To create this work, students created their own symbols of peace which they painted onto capes made from old t-shirts. We wish them luck bringing peace to the world.
Some of our older students have learnt about the work Malala has done to bring peace to the world through raising awareness of the importance of education for all children, especially girls. They have been inspired by her birthday wish that people around the world support her campaign “books not bullets”. They have created their superhero capes from old books, showing that if we give children books and education, they will be less likely to pick up a gun. We hope that books will help protect children all around the world from bullets”
