Yarn is a word used to describe both a thread used in handiwork and a light-hearted conversation. This dress is made up of both of these. ‘Just Yarning’ is a reminder of the many light-hearted conversations we have had with a variety of people. Each colour represents the tone of the conversation; yellow for words of optimism, sunshine and laughter that bless our day; red for the enlivening conversations about shared passions; browns and dark blues for talks about the men folk in the family (they always seem to prefer to wear jumpers of darker, more serious shades); light blue for the sons, grandsons and great grandsons; pink and white for the little girls and magical, fairy conversations; orange for strength and encouragement; purple and violet for conversations that lift us to higher realms. This dress is made up of all those ordinary conversations that enrich our lives every day.
